It's Potty Time

I can't believe how fast the time is flying by...just a few short hours and we will be celebrating Lauren's 2nd birthday!! Crazy...and a little tougher for me than expected. She has grown and changed so much this summer, it is unbelievable. And her vocabulary has expanded immensely. She mimics almost everything we say, good or bad.

She's an old pro at numbers 1-10 and can even count as high as 15 now. I keep trying to get a bit of that on video to share, but she is usually so mesmerized by herself on camera that she has no further interest in anything else. Colors and shapes are coming as well and almost everything she sees is either blue or red at first, but eventually she gets the right color. She has developed quite a little personality as well as an attitude! She has some how learned that she doesn't HAVE to do everything we say, well, that's what she thinks anyway and is definitely asserting her new-found independence.

The summer has been a busy one of course. We have been up to the lake a few times and even took Lauren on her first ride on the tube behind the boat. She is going to be a little fish, I just know it!! She wasn't the least bit freaked out and actually had the most fun when we went fast enough to catch a few waves!! Little daredevil!
July was full of fun and family. Both Grant and I had relatives in town over the 4th of July weekend. And we participated in the Kramer, ND Centennial as that is where the Tagestad "Vacation Home" is located. It was a great time and Lauren was able to be part of the parade. She rode on the firetruck with Daddy and also was on the Tagestad Grey Goose float.

The biggest news so far is that Lauren used her potty chair for the first time on Sunday. She and I had gone to Minot with Mom & Dad and we had just gotten home and she told Granma (Mom) she needed to go potty. This had been going on for a while but she usually just sat there for a few minutes and nothing would happen. Well, this time it did! We are so proud of her and are hoping that more will follow! Anything that involves a sticker and a treat for a reward is okay in her book!!

She's just growing up so fast....wish time would slow down just a bit!! But, we enjoy every moment with her. And she has become such a Daddy's girl, which is so sweet! It's so much fun to watch them together.

Until next time!

Jess
